- Our intricate, Northern-style kantha blankets are a living piece of artwork, crafted from repurposed saris in a village in Bangladesh.
- It is stitched in a traditional style of kantha for northern Bengal - dense stitching with thicker thread - with designs more elaborate in addition to the straight, running stitch.
- Blankets vary in size and thickness (see below for size & notes). As is typical in rustic kantha, these blankets are 2 - 4 layers of cloth. There may be minor imperfections or unique elements of a rustic, handicraft produced by an individual in a home; each have still passed our quality inspection & standards. - Handcrafted by women in a village in Bangladesh, they work for several hours per day and complete a blanket over ~2 months. This blanket provides good work that allows her to stay in her home village without migrating to the city.
